The image above is a painting (oil on canvas) by Thomas Moran titled "Rainbow over the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone," which hangs in the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C. Moran's sketches and paintings helped convince Congress to create Yellowstone National Park in 1872, making it the first national park in the U.S.
